ISLAMABAD: The World Economic Forum (WEF) has identified corruption as the main hurdle for the progress of business in Pakistan.

According to the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) 2012-13 released on Wednesday by the World Economic Forum, Pakistan has been ranked 124 among 144 countries on the index.

The report says Pakistan lacks a long-term view of competitiveness while the level of corruption and poor governance are some of the factors slowing down Pakistan’s economic growth. The World Economic Forum ranks countries on more than 100 economic indicators and compares 144 countries.
